You can’t beat a good cup of coffee. Whether it’s a soya latte or a caramel cappuccino, for me the best part about it is the hot frothy milk.
But sometimes you don’t have time or you’re fed up with paying £5 at the fancy coffee shop down the road. How do you get that coffee shop experience whilst at home? Without having to pay mega bucks for a professional coffee machine?
The answer is simple – you buy yourself a Swan Automatic Milk Frother. It turns your standard cup of coffee into a barista-level experience and takes the taste to the next level. Hot, frothed milk which brings the sweetness out and gives it that amazing velvety texture we all love to enjoy at Starbucks.
There’s a huge choice of Milk Frothers on the market today, but for me, you won’t find a better value option than the one from Swan.

Swan Milk Frother Review 2022
Swan Automatic Milk Frother
Swan Automatic Milk Frother Key Features
- 115ml for milk foamer and 240ml for milk warming
- From cold to hot milk in about 80 seconds
- Automatic switch off
- 2 Layer non-stick coating
- 500W
On first appearance, the Swan Milk Frother looks like most of the standard frothers on the market today.
Its simple design is sleek and built with stainless steel and black plastic, which is also coated with an easy-to-clean 2-layered non-stick material. Visually, I have to say it’s not the most premium of feels, especially when you compare it to a Smeg or Lavazza equivalent. However you’re also paying a fifth of the price of a Smeg, so you know that from the start.
For just over £30, you get a milk frother that can offer you warm, gently frothed milk in just 80 seconds. When you compare this price to almost all the other automatic options on the market, you will struggle to find one cheaper.
It’s all good saying it’s the cheapest on the market, but does it perform to a standard as good as the rest? The short answer to this is yes – it will give you perfect hot milk in no time at all.
It’s simple and effective, which is all I’m really after when frothing my milk for a morning coffee. I like the fact that you only need a button to get what you’re after and once you’re done it even turns itself off which is handy.
The sizing is ok, but not great for anything more than one cup, which in a busy morning household can be slightly annoying. If it’s a smaller household or only one person is drinking coffee with frothed milk then this sizing will be more than sufficient. I must also add that this is the case for many of the more expensive options on the market, so it’s not overly surprising.
As for the frothy milk, I found it to produce a sufficient amount for a good-sized cappuccino. The texture is light and velvety, and really brings out the flavor of the milk as you would expect. There’s no denying, it’s not the best-frothed milk I’ve ever had. But as I have to keep reminding myself, it is only just over £30.
The only problem that I kept finding was a slight residue at the bottom which needed some hot water to clean. I would assume it’s from the milk getting a little too hot and becoming stickier. This for me is only a minor issue and is massively outweighed by the excellent price and usability.
Swan Milk Frother Pros

- A good amount of froth
- Ideal for warm milk
- Sturdy design
Swan Milk Frother Cons

Our Verdict
So that was a quick look at our Swan Milk Frother review. There’s no doubt it’s a great choice for those looking for something that will give you a good level of frothy milk for your morning coffee. Whether it’s frothed milk or warm milk, the Swan can offer just that whenever you need it.
Yes, it’s gone its floors. A lack of power and the sticky residue left after use for example. However, for an overall value buy – there’s none that beats it on value. For under £40 you get a product that is good quality, provides a sufficient amount of milk froth, and should last you a long time.
